A Slice of Fun — Student Pizza Contests

Engaging students with meals that are both nutritious and delicious is at the heart of what we do — and one of the biggest student favorites is our hands-on pizza-making contest. Students step into the role of chef for the day, rolling dough, choosing toppings and learning how a great pizza comes together from scratch. The energy is contagious as they experiment, ask questions and discover the fun of creating food with their own hands.

The excitement peaks when the winning pizza is chosen. The student chef earns naming rights and their pizza becomes a featured menu item, which gets the whole school talking. The event builds ownership, boosts enthusiasm for school meals and shows students that fresh, creative food can be both healthy and exciting.

These events also give many students their first real introduction to cooking. And who knows — the next great chef may be one of the young culinarians inspired during a Pizza Party Challenge, getting an early taste of what it means to be part of the next generation of culinary talent.
