Plainfield D202 To Part Ways With Aramark
Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 is ending its 12-year partnership with food service provider Aramark, effective May 22. The district has selected Chicago-based OrganicLife as its new provider, citing significant cost savings — Aramark's renewal proposal came in approximately $1 million higher than the district's recommended provider.
The transition is expected to be complete by July 1, with the roughly 170 affected Aramark employees eligible for rehire under the new program. District leaders pointed to an "enhanced dining experience for students while continuing to maintain high standards" as central to the decision.
