The St. Marcus Story: From Cafeteria Food to a True Dining Experience

When St. Marcus Lutheran Schools in Milwaukee needed a new food service partner mid-year, the priority was stability and minimal disruption.
Within weeks of OrganicLife stepping in, the program was transformed. Students quickly moved from traditional "cafeteria food" to what one student described as "better food than a real restaurant."
The impact was immediate and measurable. In the first month alone, daily meal participation increased by more than 200 meals, a 13% overall gain across breakfast and lunch. Just as important, students were engaged, excited and actually eating the meals being served.
The difference came down to execution — fresh, from-scratch meals, expanded menu options and a well-trained on-site team delivering a consistent experience across all three campuses.
OrganicLife also focused on creating a more engaging dining experience for students. Recently, St. Marcus hosted a pizza challenge that generated excitement and gave students an opportunity to actively participate in the program in a fun and interactive way.
Equally important was OrganicLife's approach. Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, the team adapted to the unique needs of each campus, something school leadership quickly recognized.
At St. Marcus, food service is no longer something to manage around — it's something the school community is excited about.
